Your Causeway Coastal Route adventure begins in Belfast – take this opportunity to visit the Titanic Exhibition Centre (re-opening 01 August 2020). Titanic Belfast is the largest Titanic attraction in the world. From here make your way to Carrickfergus and explore and learn the history behind this medieval castle. Now make your way along the Antrim Coast Road, through the Glens of Antrim and take time to visit Glenarm Castle and its glorious Walled Garden.
Wake up refreshed and as you are right in the centre of the Glens of Antrim why not take a morning walk around Glenariff Forest Park – choose from many trails and take in the beautiful waterfalls and rivers. Move on to Ballycastle through the picturesque villages of Cushendall and Cushendun. When you are in the area we sugested you visit the site of the Dark Hedges – an area which were used to film the HBO TV show Game of Thrones. Having seen this make your way back to Ballycastle and continue along the coast road stopping at the tiny harbours of Ballintoy, Dunseverick and Portbradden before reaching the iconic UNESCO site of the Giant's Causeway (re-opening 03 July 2020). Steeped in myths and legends enjoy a beautiful walk and marvel at the hexagonal rock formations. Leaving the Giant's Causeway head into the bustling village of Bushmills, home of the world's Oldest Licensed Whiskey Distillery – where you can enjoy a guided tour and sample a glass of the finished product. Once more join the coast road and and stop off at the ancient ruins of Dunluce Castle – stop here for a fantastic photo opportunity. Then head towards the seaside towns of Portrush and Portstewart, if your feeling energetic why not go for a walk along Portstewart Strand or for the more adventurous why not try surfing. Now head towards Castlerock and in the distance you will see Mussenden Temple pearched on a clifftop overlooking the panoramic coastline. From here follow the road to Limavady a small market town from here you can explore Roe Valley Country Park or explore Binevenagh Mountain which has an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty status.
Your final destination is the historic city of Derry/Londonderry, the 2013 City of Culture. Spend the day exploring the historic walls, various museums or taking one of the many guided tours available. The city is crammed with plenty of cultural and historical adventures. This is now the end of your journey and it is now time to make your way back to your port.
